Dyspraxia Holding Pen Affect Handwriting?<\/h1>\n

Dyspraxia a learning disorder occurs due to a brain-based motor disorder. This disorder impacts motor skills and coordination capabilities. Due to poor coordination skills and motor skills, the child fails to achieve his developmental milestones. The child tends to act immaturely as he can barely complete simple tasks leaving him confused and frustrated.<\/p>\n

Dyspraxia impacts about 6 % of the pediatric population. As dyspraxia interferes with motor skills the child finds it extremely taxing to perform simple basic tasks. Tasks that require the use of motor skills and eye-hand coordination cannot be completed by children with dyspraxia which extends to writing skills. As holding a pen involves the movement of fingers and writing involves eye-hand coordination children with dyspraxia often suffer from poor writing skills and illegible handwriting. Putting their thoughts onto paper can be a huge ordeal for dyspraxia children.<\/p>\n

However, several occupational therapies and strategies have been formulated under Special Education that enable it to lessen the gravity of this impact.<\/p>\n
